The Mates Tour — Privacy Policy

The Mates Tour ("the app") is a private golf-scoring app used by small groups of friends to
record rounds, share photos, and track leaderboards. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and your rights. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Who we are
The app is operated by its individual owner, not a company. Questions or requests:

What we collect
- Account: your email address (via Sign in with Apple or a magic link), plus a display name and handle you choose.
- Golf data: rounds, scores, handicaps, courses, championships, and awards you enter, or that members of your group enter about you.
- Content you share: posts and photos you upload to an event's trip feed, and reactions to posts.
- Notifications: if you enable them, a device push token so we can send alerts, plus your per-type notification preferences.
- Diagnostics: error logs are shown on your device to help recover from crashes; this release does not send crash analytics to a server.
How we use it
- Show your scores, leaderboards, awards, stats, and trip feed to you and the other members of your events.
- Send push notifications only for the categories you turn on in Settings → Notifications.
- Keep your account working across devices and offline (sign-in and data sync).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers below.
Where it's stored and who processes it
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and server functions that host your data.
- PowerSync — syncs your data to your device for offline use.
- Expo push service — relays push notifications to Apple on our behalf.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete your account. In the app, Settings → Delete my
account permanently removes your profile, scores, posts, reactions, round
memberships, and push token. Events you created remain for the other members, with you
unlinked. You can also email us to request access to, correction of, or a copy of your data.
Your rights
- Access / correct: view and edit your profile and scores in the app.
- Delete: Settings → Delete my account.
- Export: email us and we'll send you a copy of your data.
- If you're in the EU/UK, you may also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
